Wow, sex! Finally!

*coughs*

As you've probably realised - all is now well with l'Internet, so I can post as I please. The linework is much less than perfect, but I was hyper over the wonderfulness of my new 0.2 pen (it really is wonderful - like an uber fine brush pen) - it'll be better in the next couple of scenes, I can assure you.

Also found this monster lurking away on my computer - part of a past project with Ellen (my comic friend of the last post):

New Links...

There are three new links to the Only Two comicblog, all to the comics of a very dear and special friend, E. Richardson. Annie Rexic is the oldest (though I'm sure Annie would not appreciate me saying so...) and Ellen's rcent escapades are present for all to see in 'Shorty comics', which I am quite jealous of.

And yes, I have indeed broken my promise for this to be a comics only blog, but what the hey. I am an undisciplined mother-liker and it's far more interesting with bits of nonsense to plough through before you, my dear and precious readers, get to the comics.

When the great Internet crisis abates, there should be some new art/a new strip for you to gawp at, you crazy fools, you...

The delay in posts this time has been caused by an Internet crisis of sorts - our Livebox has completely given up in trying to cnnect us with the haven of havens called the Internet. I am in fact posting from a college computer which has none of my recent work whatsoever. Rest assured that Miriam and Sarah are doing fine and are resolutely not an item.

The Zinenapper is out!

If you are interested in a free sample copy (b/w) then send me your address and will post it to you. Anyone interested in helping with distribution, get in touch and we'll discuss the percentages!

The following set of comics were done with a ruined pen (in my defence, thanks to an illustrating job I was doing), hence the terrible inking. I didn't realise it was messed up as much as it was until I got rid of the pencil lines *sighs*. Ah, well. There's always a few comics that just have to disappoint you. A bit of a shame, considering I like the following Primarks-inspired dialogue.

General Coolness

This really isn't The Only Two related at all but I guess I can say that the guy who publishes Space Babe likes The Only Two as well, so, a tenuous link, but tis there!

http://www.spacebabe113.co.uk/

It is probably one of the coolest things I read over the last year, and now it has it's own website. Awesome. Just go and check it out.

The not quite the end end

Of late I managed to buy myself a pretty nifty three-in-one printer for around £60 and have succeeded in scanning in every single one of tis series. So it is now finished.

That does mean, of course, that I will still be posting the rest of the comics as irregularly as possible, because I'm difficult like that. A rebel, in fact.

Would you adam and eve it? Yes, characters who aren't Miriam/Sarah. A miracle to be sure!

Free Newspapers

Based on a true story.

How things change...

My original idea for this blog was simply as a place where 'The Only Two' will be updated every now and then. Recently, it occurred to me that it might be better for there to be some sort of a narrative threading the updates together, at least for context etc.

We'll see how it goes, as two blogs seems rather OTT (I have a livejournal, you see).

Because Miriam was very closely based on me, to begin with, we share much of the same interests and ambitions. I do indeed want to study Physics at Uni and hopefully spend the rest of my days attending lectures and being quoted in Nature magazine, whilst Miriam, (who, like the rest of her friends, really started developing a separate character of her own around the... tenth strip, I think), wants to become an Engineer of some sort. Anything that involves a fusion of physics and design, really. She's difficult like that.

Announcement

The Only Two also has a livejournal community (http://community.livejournal.com/theonlytwo) where I generally talk about comics (this blog is kept mainly for posting the finished product - I shall adhere to this as strictly as possible, but some bleeding is only to be expected!) including The Only Two. Sometime in the distant future, when accolades have read and been inspired by my work, it'll serve it's purpose as a forum of sorts. For now it just has a couple of posts in which I mutter incoherantly about favourite artists and comic events.

The Crush IV

Introduction of some new characters, finally. Suki is her name and being generally nonplussed by Miriam her game.

The Crush parts I & II

This blog is now officially open! I plan on posting a new comic as often as possible. That should mean once every two weeks. However, as the first dozen or so have already been finished, they may be posted every other day or so, as I'm impatient like that.

The Only Two: Info

What is it about?

Two young lesbians who are currently finishing their secondary education at an all-girls London comprehensive. The fact that they happen to be lesbians has not been at all conducive to their social lives, remarkably enough. They remain thoroughly eccentric and devoid of six fingers. Perhaps they haven't fully grown into it, yet.

Who is it about?

Miriam, of Nigerian descent, who rants a lot. Sarah, caucasian, who mostly pretends to listen but is actually honing her lip-reading skills and enjoys maintaining an expression of pained sarcasm on her face. Various friends, who will turn up later.

Inspiration?

Real life, sadly enough. DTWOF by Alison Bechdel, I suspect, but I can't really help that because it's so wonderful; the earlier comics by Erica Moen (like from the days when her website still had a random dance panel... good times...) and Dylan Meconis (around when she started Bite Me! which I actually witnessed). Beaver and Steve by James Turner. Calvin and Hobbes. Garfield.

Ach, enough with the inspiring!

Now, for the comic!
